Action Journal is a productivity tool that helps you manage your tasks, goals, and daily journal entries. The service includes integration with Google services for enhanced functionality.

3. Google API Integration

Our service integrates with Google APIs. By using these features, you agree to:

  • Google's Terms of Service
  • Google's Privacy Policy
  • Google API Services User Data Policy

Action Journal accesses Google services based on the least privilege principle. We request the following permissions to deliver core functionality:

  • Gmail: To allow you to send emails, draft messages, and integrate tasks with email workflows
  • Calendar: To display your calendar events in journal entries and create/manage events from within the application
  • Contacts: To enable contact lookup for email recipients and task assignments
  • Drive: Limited access to only files created by our application (not your existing files)

You can revoke these permissions at any time through your Google Account settings or by disconnecting within our application's settings page.

4. Security and Compliance

Action Journal implements security measures compliant with CASA Tier 2 requirements, including:

  • Encryption of OAuth tokens at rest
  • Automatic token rotation
  • Comprehensive audit logging of API access
  • Least privilege access controls
  • Secure token revocation upon account deletion

We maintain these security controls to protect your data and maintain the integrity of our integration with Google services.

5. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account
  • All activities that occur under your account
  • Ensuring your use complies with all applicable laws
  • The content you create and share through our service
  • Reviewing the permissions you grant when connecting Google services

6. Data Usage and Privacy

Your use of Action Journal is also governed by our Privacy Policy. By using our service, you agree to the collection and use of information as detailed in the Privacy Policy.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

When you delete your account:

  • All your personal data will be permanently deleted from our systems
  • OAuth tokens will be securely revoked with Google
  • The deletion process is irreversible and cannot be undone
  • The deletion occurs via a secure background process to ensure thorough removal

We retain data only for as long as necessary to provide our services to you or as required by law.

8. Modifications to Service

We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the service at any time, with or without notice. We shall not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the service.

9. Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account and access to the service at our sole discretion, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms of Service or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason.
